Gas, smoke and flame detection are typically required by local regulations as well as by NFPA 820 “Standard for Fire Protection in Wastewater Treatment and Collection Facilities.” This standard and others describe the requirements for protecting both personnel and facilities involved with wastewater containment and treatment.
